With a renewed focus on core utility
competencies and a much simpler business model, officials at Maine &
Maritimes Corporation are excited by new opportunities as a direct
result of improving industry fundamentals. Uniquely connected to Canada,
the geographic location of the Company's electrical transmission network
provides access to the rapidly expanding Canadian and New England
market. MPS is teaming up with others to pursue the development of a
large-scale transmission project that: i) will connect MPS to the New
England grid providing our customers with direct access to a more liquid
and competitive power market and ii) may stimulate the development of
additional renewable power projects in northern Maine. |
